Summary

Your study sets, progress, notes and settings are stored only on your device (browser localStorage/IndexedDB, or the app's local storage on iOS). We don't receive them unless you use an AI feature. We have no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking.

What we collect, and why

• Account (optional, needed only for AI and Pro): your email address, to sign you in with a one-time link and to link your subscription.
• AI requests (only when you press an AI button and have agreed to the AI notice): the text you chose to send (e.g. notes, card text, your question) is sent to our server and to our AI provider ([PROVIDER, e.g. OpenAI]) to produce the answer. We don't store the content of AI requests; we store counts and token totals to enforce usage limits. The AI provider processes it under its API terms ([link]).
• Payments: handled by [Stripe / Lemon Squeezy / Apple]. We receive a customer ID and subscription status, never your card number.
• Reports: if you report an AI response, we store the response text and your reason to review it.
• Server logs: our host (Cloudflare) may keep short-lived request logs including IP address for security.

Imported files, photos and drawings

Files you import (PDF, Word, slides, Notion/Evernote/Anki exports, photos) are read on your device, and the text is stored in your device's notes library. On-device text recognition (Tesseract in the browser, Apple Vision on iPhone/iPad) never leaves your device. Only when you tap an AI action (for example “AI: read handwriting”) is that one image, resized and with photo metadata such as location removed, or the excerpts of your notes shown as citations, sent to our server and the AI provider. Camera and photo access are used only when you choose to add a photo.

Retention and deletion

Delete your account any time in Studio → Account → Delete account; this removes your email, plan and usage records. Local data is removed by clearing the app's site data or deleting the app. Email [CONTACT] for help.

Children

Recallwise is intended for users 13 and older (16+ in the EEA for AI features unless a parent consents). We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
